Demand for Freelancing | It seems that pandemic has impacted almost all aspects of people's lives, whether it be health, socialization, economy, education, professional growth, and so on. However, recent studies have shown that the freelancing business is still flourishing to its full potential. Not only that, but the demand for freelancing has also greatly been increased in this pandemic crisis.

According to the recent statistical analysis by Upwork, a freelancing platform, says that almost 40% of the total US workforce does freelancing. Many consummate freelancers are earning around $80,000 to $100,000 yearly by offering different skillsets.

The current global job market has undergone a lot of transformation during this pandemic period and has set many new trends for professionals working in different sectors. People across the world are preferring to hire people remotely and are not limited to a particular location. Likewise, they are also hiring people on a contractual basis, so they do not need to pay them when the job is done. In addition, the employer can hire talented individuals from anywhere across the world.

Besides that, youngsters prefer flexible work alternatives rather than opting for a full-time job. Many full-time employees have been laid-off since world economies have enforced lockdowns since March. Most importantly, the truth of the matter is — there are no jobs.

In recent times, where everyone is facing a financial crisis, Upwork's shares have risen to 14.5%, according to the September report of S&P Global Market Intelligence.

The Upwork report always says that 36% of freelancers do freelancing on a full-time basis, a massive 8% increase from 2019. 75% of people who left their full-time jobs say they make the same or more money doing freelancing than their traditional job, and 22% have reported an increase in their total annual freelance earnings, accumulating annual earnings of freelancers to $1.2 trillion this year.

So it is not contradictory to say that the demand for freelancing has been boomed in this pandemic in the US and across the world.
